ORIOL MARÈS & TALAL FAYAD
QUARTET
Oriol Marès & Talal Fayad Quartet fuses clarinet and Arabic oud into a sound that bridges Arab modal traditions, Latin polyrhythms, and jazz freedom. Selected for the International Residencies at La Marfà (Girona), they have performed in Spain, France, Italy, and the Netherlands, at venues such as Fira Mediterrània and MENA Festival Groningen (sold out), Het Concertgebouw (sold out), Gezmataz, VOCE Corsica. Featuring Lucas Zegrí (drums) and Thodoris Ziarkas (double bass), they present their debut album Estuarium, featured on the WMCE Charts and ranked #11 on LIMúR.
ESTUARIUM
Oriol Marès & Talal Fayad Quartet’s debut album Estuarium blends Arabic, Latin, and Jazz across nine originals. Joined by percussionist Lucas Zegrí and bassist Thodoris Ziarkas, the quartet deepens its fusion of styles into a cohesive musical language. Their music reflects personal expression and cross-cultural connection, shaped by each musician’s roots. Constantly evolving, it intertwines Arabic modal traditions, jazz improvisation, and Latin polyrhythms in an organic conversation. While each member maintains their identity, they seek common ground, creating a sound that bridges traditions while celebrating individuality.
